Kaye McFadyen is a contemporary Scottish painter whose atmospheric paintings are inspired by the ever-changing coastline of Scotland’s west coast. Working predominantly in oil, she explores the embodied experience of weather, light, sea and wind, creating paintings that evoke atmosphere, memory and the spaces between.

Each painting begins with time spent walking the shoreline, immersed in changing weather and shifting light, before returning to the studio where observation, memory and reflection shape the work.

Rather than describing the landscape, these paintings are responses to lived experience, exploring atmosphere, movement, silence and the spaces between sea, sky and memory.

Every painting shown here is an original work. No prints or reproductions are produced, ensuring each painting remains unique.
