Kaye McFadyen is a contemporary Scottish painter whose atmospheric paintings are inspired by the ever-changing coastline of the west of Scotland.

Working predominantly in oil, she explores the embodied experience of weather, light, sea and wind, creating paintings that evoke atmosphere, memory and the spaces between.

Hello and welcome to my website.

Each painting begins with time spent walking the shoreline, immersed in the changing weather and light before returning to the studio to develop the work through memory, observation and reflection.

My paintings are not descriptions of the landscape but responses to lived experience, exploring atmosphere, movement, silence and the spaces between sea, sky and memory.

Every painting shown here is an original work. I do not produce prints or reproductions.
